STATEN ISLAND — An Old Bridge man has been accused of stealing more than $100,000 in cigarettes from the Staten Island pharmacy where he worked as a manager, according to the New York Post.
Tony Nazario, 29, was caught attempting to enter the Walgreens location after it had closed and lift approximately 300 packs of cigarettes Friday night, police sources told the paper.
He was caught after a brief foot chase that ended when he fell and broke his leg, the Post said.
According to the paper's sources, Nazario began stealing from the pharmacy about a year ago, after he was passed over for a promotion.
