EDGEWATER -- A store was forced to stop selling dogs Friday after it was re-selling animals bought from breeders, reported.

The practice is prohibited under town rules. Animals can only be sold if they come from an animal care facility or animal rescue organization, according to the publication.

The dogs at the New York Puppy Club were reportedly taken to the Bergen County Animal Shelter & Adoption Center in Teterboro.

The store was investigated after a complaint was filed about one of the dog's conditions, according to

"I feel like this was unfair," Pet Store Owner Daeman Yoon reportedly told the publication. "I'm at a loss of words."
