After 27 years, the voice of The Muppets star Kermit the Frog is being replaced. So, who will take over? Well, Stephen Colbert has a few ideas.

In a comedy sketch on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Show, Colbert had the likes of Donald Trump, his son Don Jr., press secretary Sean Spicer and Ben Carson audition for the role. Sort of. Trump and his associates did not actually appear on the show—the vocals were the work of some highly skilled voice actors.

“The American dream is dead,” declared the Trump-voiced Kermit—not quite the cheery pep you expect to see on a children’s television show.

A producer then says: “Remember, Kermit is a beloved character. Can you say something that everyone will love?”

Trump’s Kermit responded: “We need a new president fast.”

That got him hired straight away.

In the less successful auditions, Spicer’s Kermit brought a gloomy tone to his audition even after being instructed to keep it “light and fun.”

“You know, you had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons…” said Kermit, spoofing Spicer’s boneheaded statement about the Holocaust during a press conference in April.

Next up was Don Jr., who is caught up in a scandal about meeting with a Russian lawyer, alleged to have ties to the Kremlin, to acquire dirt on Hillary Clinton during the presidential election.

“Someone sent me emails... I can’t help what someone sends me,” said Trump Jr.’s Kermit. That is a direct quote from the eldest Trump son’s interview with Sean Hannity on Tuesday night where he tried to quash the scandal.

The producer responded: “He’s a frog but he’s not dumb. Can you say something a little less stupid?”

Trump aide Ben Carson also auditioned, recalling a 2015 interview where he revealed he was a “very volatile” teenager. “I would go after people with rocks, bricks, baseball bats and hammers. And, of course, many people know the story of when I was 14 and tried to stab someone.”

“How did you get in here?” shouted the producer. "Security!"
